An outstanding and unique straw marquetry lamp with a beautiful cloud form. The Blue Cloud Straw Marquetry Lamp has a brass top and base encasing the straw marquetry craftsmanship in between.
In addition to its elegant profile the cloud lamp's form is fun and playful. The straw marquetry in this wonderful blue colour sparkles and feels like a deep blue sky.
The Blue Cloud Straw Marquetry Lamp base is made from a wooden frame and then hand detailed with individual pieces of straw to create the marquetry effect. This lamp does not include the shade.
Straw marquetry is the art of forming a decorative panel using flattened slithers of natural cured straw. The stem is split, flattened, softened and scraped or ironed into a flat ribbon. It is then inlaid edge to edge on the wood until the entire surface is covered. The process is entirely hand made from the preparation of the straw into ribbons, to the dyeing process, to the choosing and inlaying of each single piece of straw onto the surface of the lamp.

We ship within the UK with tracked Royal Mail, DPD and DHL depending on the size and weight of the product.
